Ms. Sharon Dooley, of the Small Business Administration (SBA) will explain the availability and features of low-interest disaster assistance loans available to Charlotte County businesses and residents affected by Hurricane Ian. 

 

These low-interest federal disaster loans are for HOMEOWNERS AND RENTERS, plus businesses of all sizes, non-profit organizations, faith-based organizations, small aquaculture businesses, and small agricultural cooperatives impacted by the storms.  All can apply for their uncompensated losses – i.e., their insurance wasn’t enough to complete their repairs, or they didn’t have insurance.   The Agency will waive the interest rate for the first year on new disaster loans and extend the initial payment deferment period automatically to 12 months.  

 

The Deadline to apply for a Physical Damage Disaster Loan has been extended to January 12, 2023.”
